Microsoft debuts security package

31 May 2006 11:54

Taken from BBC NEWS, Microsoft is to be debuing it’s security package. 3 computers will be covered in the yearly fee of £26.50 but the question would you actually trust them to care about your PC? Seems like a handy way to grab more information about your machine and also slipstream in updates to Windows without exactly telling you what their doing… or am I being a classic M$ synic?

We shall see.

Flickr Gamma

17 May 2006 12:30

Just getting into using Flickr and have been busy uploading photos . Logged in last night however to find it’s gone from beta to gamma status and with it got a whole load of changes.

The organiser is now full screen and non flash, it’s been ajax’ed royally and to be honest not sure it’s as nice to use. Other noticable changes are the drop down menus up the top which again I’m not sure about.

Time will tell as will user feedback, I’m sure I’ll get use to it. Next on the list is playing with API to get photos inline on the site.

Google Web Toolkit

17 May 2006 12:28

Another beta release from Google:

Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is a Java software development framework that makes writing AJAX applications like Google Maps and Gmail easy for developers who don’t speak browser quirks as a second language. Writing dynamic web applications today is a tedious and error-prone process; you spend 90% of your time working around subtle incompatabilities between web browsers and platforms, and JavaScript’s lack of modularity makes sharing, testing, and reusing AJAX components difficult and fragile.

Google Notebook

17 May 2006 12:26

Google is on a release spree again. This time yet another free service in the form of Google Notebook. It is a research type tool allowing you to save clips from various web sites into a notebook. Can’t help think this is “inspired” by 37signals Backpack or Writeboard apps but hey, still suspect it’ll quite handy.
