An interesting article over at adaptive path on the changing face of web applications and how they’re moving closer to desktop applications. Examples given are Google Maps & Google Suggest. Ajax being short hand for Asynchronous JavaScript + XML. Worth a read.

Crazy Frog in a microwave?

25 May 2005 13:20

Yet more crazy frog bashing going here in this amusing video.

Quote:

For some time now a certain ‘hilarious’ video of a computer animated frog-type thing has infested TV advert slots on music video channels. Now the blight has spread to all commercial channels with alarming frequency of repetition. This little video is my response. Join the legions of people who want to kill the annoying little scrote.

Also saw a hang the frog image over on office-humour.co.uk

24 May 2005 14:58

I get the feeling that the search engines wars are about to start up again. Who’s next, got to be Yahoo! really, though, not sure they’ll join the band wagon with this.

BlogCFC 3.7 upgrade SQL

23 May 2005 10:32

Just noticed Andy J has upgraded his Blog to 3.7 and got a new design up. I’m in the throws of doing this, but the point of interest is he’s done a quick MySQL script to upgrade the DB to reflect the new changes. Will save me a few minutes when I come to do it.

Episode III – Revenge of The Sith

17 May 2005 15:26

Oh yes, it’s almost here….

Three years after the Battle of Geonosis, the Clone Wars are coming to a close. Obi-Wan Kenobi, now a general, is sent by the Republic to bring down remaining Separatists Count Dooku and General Grievous. Meanwhile Chancellor Palpatine has become corrupt, proclaiming himself Emperor and, with Anakin Skywalker’s help, begins to turn the Republic into the Galactic Empire. As Anakin ultimately becomes the evil we know as Darth Vader, Padme goes into hiding and, at the end of one war, another conflict we know all too well is about to begin.

00:40 Thursday I’ll be at the cinema. I’m no geek, I’m a fanboy :D … Ahh yeah….

It was around a few months back and was very good, it’s now relaunching and is hosted by (mt) mediatemplate so hopefully it’s going to be even better.

Currently registration for the closed beta test is open. Randomly selected participants will be invited to beta test the new website analytics tracker. You can try your luck by using the registration form on the site.
