Been scratching my head for a while trying to figure out why a simply CFC method with a couple of arguments and a plain select query was throwing an error. The error was
name can’t be empty
no case, no real clue as to what it was. Turns out after some digging and googling (HOF – cf-talk ) that it comes from if you have a query in the form
cfquery name=”qname” dsn=”#dsn#”
and your dsn variable is an empty string it throws that error. Just got to figure our were in my code the bug is!
Wanted to know what all those XML files in Coldfusion MX are, what purpose they have and were they live? Wonder no more, go have a read of this new Technote.
Gone is the need to rummage around for a CD marker pen, burn straight onto the disc. Very cool.
Amazon.co.uk are the latest site to join in on what seems to be a rapidly growing market which is online DVD rental.

Seems like quite a good idea, though, as a side thought Amazon will now have a huge distribution network even bigger than before and more stock.

It seems that even the biggest of online retailers can have issues with there website, and having seen some errors yesterday they don’t appear to be over. For more information take a look at The Register.
