If you use Steam and have downloaded any games, in particular Half Life 2 lately, you may want to know how to backup the files so you can rebuild your PC/Laptop etc. Well here is an article posted on the Steam forums.

If you want to know more about steam I’ve copied the description from the site. Basically “Steam is Valve’s new broadband platform for direct software delivery and content management.”

The first bit of this is quite handy, shows you all current CF scopes. Second one someone sent me a while back, can’t quite remember why either but might be useful. Not documented or I’m sure supported so use with care.

<cfset x=getPageContext().getCFScopes()>

<cfdump var=“#x#”>

<cfscript>
x=getPageContext().getPage();
y=getPageContext().getOut();
</cfscript>

K700i Firmware Online Update

7 October 2004 9:13

Sony Ericsson have launched an online update service for the K700 phone.

Basically it allows you to update the firmware online, yourself, without the need to take it to a SE Service Center.

You’ll need the Sync Station software installed and also you’ll have to get hold of or buy a DSS-25 (Desk Synchronization Stand). I got mine of Ebay which was the cheapest I could find. You may need to go and download the drivers for the DSS-25 as mine didn’t come with a driver disk.

Once you’ve got the Update Software, Sync Station software and the DSS-25 installed you’re ready to go.

Took about 10-15 minutes to do the full upgrade on ADSL.

A firmware overview is available over at Esato.
