Hotmail fees for Outlook access

BBC NEWS | Technology | Hotmail fees for Outlook access

Now you can call me a cynic if you like but I don’t care. This is nothing to do with spam is just greedy Gates after yet more of our hard earner money. If it’s not enough with Tony Blair taxing everything we work for leaving us with f*** all, we now have good ‘ol Gates jumping on the band wagon.

Grr.

Now Playing

28 September 2004 10:21

Just installed a Winamp plugin called Now Playing by Lauri Nevala. The version on the site that I’ve just installed is 1.4.1, and guess what there’s a pod for Blog CFC coming soon :)

Edit: Slight change of plan, now using DoSomething plugin to generate a file. Working on the pod and should be sorted soon ish.

Edit (again): OK, think I may quit on this one, can’t get either working as I’m at work behind the firewall. Rah.

Blog CFC This

27 September 2004 14:13

I’m sure some of you will have seen Blogger’s BlogThis! functionality, well, I decided to have a play and make a version for Ray Camden’s Blog CFC.

After a little playing about I’ve finally got it working.

Basically I took the editor.cfm and copied it, then added the login form to the actual page, removed some of the edit functionality as it’ll only be used to add entries, alter the cfparam tags so that they have the URL variables in. Finally I copied the Blogger JavaScript code, simply changing the URL path to my new page. It now behaves exactly as the BlogThis! link does.

For full details on the code and how to install it read on…

Shatner is back!

23 September 2004 22:52

This deserves a post. William Shatner, yes, Captain Kirk sings a cover of Pulp’s Common People.

Don’t believe me, go listen and read some more or here.

It really is quite shocking.

<cfset throw(“Blog must be run under ColdFusion MX 6.1 or higher.”)>
   </cfif>

Dynamic Ranking

23 September 2004 14:20

This came up from a post over in the EasyCFM.com forum. It’s all
about dynamic ranking, mainly using JavaScript. It’s like you want to rate your “things” 1-5 but don’t want to manually update the lists.

Hard to explain so easier if you look at the code or the example. Thanks to CJ for the JS bit.
